Which includes; facing new challenges, working on my health and pushing my limits. The health aspect is going to continue for the rest of life. Right now, I want to excel at the other two while staying consistent on my daily goals. My New Years resolution for 2025 is this blog, learning how to sell, well, and enjoying each day.

So this blog is focused on eating those amazing goodies while staying as fit as possible. I will include the macros that I double check and round in the middle. This amazing Deep Chocolate Banana Bread is only part 1 to another bread that took some hard work to concoct! But this was the first one I will definitely come back to time-again. Baking Instructions

Prep

  1. Preheat

    1. Preheat your oven to 350 Degrees Fahrenheit. Place a piece of parchment paper in the pan to help with removal of the bread after baking. Spray the ends of the loaf pan.

Mixing

  1. Combine ingredients

    1. In a large bowl, mash the bananas with a fork and then add the melted butter, brown sugar and granulated sugar to the bowl to whisk well until combined.
    2. Add the eggs, vanilla extract and Greek yogurt to the bowl. Mix until everything is blended well.
    3. With a spatula, fold in the dry ingredients. You are adding the cocoa powder, flour, baking soda, baking powder and salt .
    4. Lastly, fold the chocolate chips into the batter.

Transfer to Oven

  1. Baking/Cooling

    1. Transfer the batter into your prepared baking loaf pan by scraping the bowl clean with that spatula.
    2. Feel free to top the batter with a sprinkle of chocolate chips or banana slices on the way to the oven.
    3. Bake until the domed bread springs when touched, and the center does not leave a mess on the toothpick or bread knife that is stuck into it, or about 50-60 minutes.
    4. When removing from the oven, let the pan cool for about 10 minutes before removing the loaf from the pan with your parchment paper and placing it on the cooling rack to finish setting.

Frequently Asked Questions

Expand All:

Does the type of pan matter?

It is best to use a correct-sized dish no matter what type, but if it causes everything to spread out, shorten the baking length and vice-versa. You can bake it with a metal loaf pan or a glass casserole dish. You will just need to get good at knowing when you want to remove it from the oven for consistency purposes. The glass dish will cause a more rigid outer crust, but the loaf will bake more evenly and perhaps faster; be careful not to bake over.

Does the quality of ingredients matter?

Very ripe bananas will add a better flavor to the bread.

That GREAT quality cocoa powder is worth a few extra bucks. It will help create a smoother, fudgy, and rich cake-like texture for a fantastic dessert.

How to store after baking?

The texture of these will help them stay light and fluffy for days without drying out if they are stored well! After cooling, seal it in an airtight container or cover it well with plastic wrap. You can keep it at room temperature for up to 5 days or in the fridge longer.

If you want to freeze it, slice and then separate each piece with parchment paper and freeze together in a freezer-safe bag with the air removed. When ready to eat, remove a slice to defrost overnight in the fridge or for an hour at room temperature—lastly, microwave for at least 30 seconds for a quick and indulgent snack.

Overmixing?

Over-mixing the batter can cause more gluten to bond and, thus, thicker, chewier bread after baking. The reason to mix as lightly as possible is for that vibrant, cake-like texture that this recipe was destined to create.
